New Technology Investment Assists Kelvin KBB To Grow Its Business Operations

01 December 2008

An investment in the latest IT infrastructure solutions, implemented and managed by Northgate Managed Services is enabling Cumbernauld based manufacturing company Kelvin kbb to expand its business operations.

Established in 1986 and based in Cumbernauld, Glasgow, Kelvin kbb now employs 250 staff, and has a reputation for quality design, manufacture, delivery and installation of kitchens, bathroom vanity furniture, a variety of wardrobe systems and freestanding bedroom furniture sold nationally to house builders and developers.

With the organisation’s decision to move to a new purpose built site, there was a need to review its existing ICT suite. Working in partnership with Northgate a more modern and robust infrastructure was implemented.  The new system has allowed for the standardisation of user desktop PCs, a full upgrade to Microsoft Office and the introduction of Microsoft Exchange.

Commenting on the new system, Dean Snell, Head of IT with Kelvin kbb stated, “The company’s new ICT infrastructure is not only more suitable for our needs but it has also helped to deliver greater efficiencies, in that the network is now easier to manage and maintain across our divisions.  This has meant that we have been able to realise a number of cost savings but more importantly the new infrastructure has helped to drive the organisation to the forefront of our industry.”

He continued, “Northgate’s expertise has been invaluable throughout this process. The new systems now in place were set up and installed quickly with a minimum amount of fuss and disruption.  The team from Northgate have added real value to our operations and I look forward to continuing our relationship in the future.”

James Turnbull, Managing Director, Infrastructure Solutions, Northgate Managed Servcies added, “We are delighted to support Kelvin kbb move to its new premises.  We remain dedicated to ensuring that our robust solutions provide the organisation with the flexibility and enhanced customer service capabilities to continue to grow and develop its business. We look forward to continuing to support Kelvin kbb and I would like to take this opportunity to wish the company every success in the future.”
