Northgate Information Solutions announced as preferred bidder for ICT provision in Kent County Council’s Building Schools for th

Northgate Information Solutions, the UK’s leading supplier of specialist software and IT services for the Human Resources, Education and Public Services markets, has been announced as Kent County Council’s (KCC) preferred bidder for the supply of ICT in the first phase of the £1.8 billion Building Schools for the Future (BSF) programme. The ICT element of the contract is worth £31m.

The new £600 million public private partnership consisting of KCC, Land Securities Trillium, Partnerships for Schools (PfS) and Northgate will refurbish or rebuild secondary schools and transform the delivery of education in the Gravesham, Swale and Thanet districts by 2014.

Northgate and Land Securities Trillium was chosen as Kent’s preferred bidder after a stringent selection and scoring process in line with European Union procurement rules.

Northgate already supplies managed services to over 1,200 school and college networks across the UK and this is their third BSF contract.The announcement comes in the wake of Northgate\'s BSF contract wins to supply ICT managed services to Bristol and Leicester City Councils.
