With offices across the United Kingdom, the firm which is a leading cloud, infrastructure and ICT managed services provider are finalists in both the IT Supplier of the Year and IT Employer of the Year Categories.
Held in November (10th), the UK IT Industry Awards are the ultimate recognition of achievement for any company involved in ICT in the United Kingdom.
Northgate, which employs over 1,300 people across the UK, made it through to the final stage in the Employer of the Year Category in recognition of the excellent employment and career opportunities which are offered to their workforce. Being named finalist in the IT Supplier of the Year, compliments last week's announcement of the company's strong financial results for the full year ended April 30th 2011. Strong growth is demonstrated by Northgate Managed Services due to the roll out of orders won in previous years. The company continues to demonstrate business successes and recently secured a UK wide deal with estate agents Strutt and Parker to provide IT services across all of their 50 offices.
Northgate also won a number of schools and academies deals including
a £5.8m contract with the Isle of Sheppey Academy in Kent, a £1.5m contract with Malcolm Arnold Academy in Northampton and a £2.5m contract with Rushey Mead School in Leicester. They continue to grow in the Health Sector and are currently working with every health board in Scotland and Northern Ireland to deliver smarter, more efficient ways of operating.
Andy Ross, Chief Executive for Northgate Managed Services, said: "This nomination underpins a hugely successful year for the company and demonstrates the brilliant work which our team have been involved with. Already in 2011 we have secured a long line of contract wins across the UK and are confident that this will continue.
Being amongst the finalists for IT Supplier of the Year is something which we are extremely proud of and demonstrates our ability to deliver effective IT services and solutions across a range of sectors. Our services are provided by highly committed teams of employees, so being recognised for their achievements by being shortlisted in the Employer of the Year category is very important to us".
The awards are sponsored by Computing Magazine and BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT.
David Clarke, Chief Executive Officer, BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT, says: "Congratulations to the finalists; the competition to reach this stage of our prestigious Awards is tough. Our Awards are central to our mission to recognise the innovation and professionalism of those working in IT and I'm delighted that every year we have such a variety of high quality entries. They are an excellent reflection of the impact IT has on so many aspects of our information society and the potential IT has to transform business, society and our lives."
