Northgate backs Glasgow City Ladies as final countdown for Europe begins

04 August 2011
Glasgow City Ladies FC were today celebrating another great result without even kicking a ball – as ICT firm Northgate Managed Services renewed its sponsorship of the club.
The Scottish champions will again display Northgate's logo on the sleeve of first team shirts for another year, starting with next week's UEFA Women's Champions League ties.
Glasgow City head off for Europe this week to prepare for qualifying games against Serbian cracks ŽFK Spartak Jaffa as well as Mosta FC of Malta and Faroese outfit KÍ Klaksvík.
They will do so boosted by Northgate's second year of sponsorship after the company confirmed their backing for another season.
City's General Manager, Laura Montgomery, expressed the club's delight in the renewed sponsorship.
She said: "These are really exciting times for our club just now, as we head off into the UEFA Women's Champions League once more, to take on some of Europe's best.
"To do so, on the back of the fantastic news that Northgate Managed Services have signed up once more to be a principal sponsor is a great boost for everyone at Glasgow City.
"We strive to set standards both on and off the park and to have a company the stature of Northgate renew their partnership with us, hopefully re-affirms their belief and our own in the level of ambition at this club."
ICT firm Northgate has a Scottish base in Glasgow and is headquartered in Belfast, with more than 1,300 staff providing cloud services, infrastructure services and ICT specialist managed services to public, private and third sector organisations across the UK.
James Turnbull, managing director of Northgate Managed Services, said: "As Northgate grows its own reputation in Scotland, so too are Glasgow City with another league title achieved and representing their country in Europe - again - just days away.
"We were only too happy to commit to backing the club as they aim to break new ground and become the first Scottish team to qualify into the knockout stages.
"At Northgate we continue to attempt to find new ways to use technology to help firms increase their potential and allow our own business to grow, so both organisations are similarly ambitious.
"We wish everyone at Glasgow City LFC all the very best for their European matches and are sure they will do Scotland proud."
Northgate's sponsorship complements Glasgow City's current agreements with main club sponsor Greaves Sports and a host of associate sponsors.
