And the Survey says...C2K is a Success
13 April 2006
An independent survey of post-primary schools province-wide confirms that Northern Ireland’s pioneering e-learning strategy, which places ICT at the heart of the learning process, is supporting local schoolteachers in their campaign to deliver an enhanced learning experience to our children.
The customer satisfaction survey, conducted by PricewaterhouseCoopers on behalf of C2k, gave teachers across 221 of Northern Ireland\'s post-primary schools the opportunity to express their opinions on the new managed ICT service provided by C2k and its technology partners, Northgate Information Solutions (formerly Sx3).
The survey revealed high levels of satisfaction by all teachers with the following percentage rating positively:
Reliability of PCs (89%)
Northgate\'s promptness in problem solving (88%) and performance/ attitude (95%)
Network security standards (87%)
Anti-virus protection (98%), filtering of internet access (72%)
Overall satisfaction with C2k support staff (83%)
The survey also identified the top 10 benefits post-primary schools have derived from C2k Managed Services so far, which included:
Good quality software packages
Increased availability of high quality hardware
Increased access for all staff and pupils through networked systems
Increased efficiency of management and administration
"We\'re delighted with the survey\'s findings as it confirms the ground-breaking success and educational benefits C2k has delivered in the post-primary sector," said Jimmy Stewart of C2k.
"Teachers, for the first time, have shared their appreciation and enthusiasm for what C2k is delivering to the classroom, and how it is significantly enhancing their learning and teaching environment in a safer and more accessible way. I have little doubt that Northgate\'s ability to manage and maintain school ICT networks in a reliable and supportive manner have been central to their satisfaction, with teachers giving their seal of approval for Northgate\'s outstanding reliability and quality of service - anytime, anywhere."
Darren Lemon, Managing Director of Education, Northgate-IS shared his delight in the survey\'s findings,
"Having been involved in C2k from the start, we\'re really encouraged with the schools\' positive feedback. By giving their honest opinions, they have also helped identify aspects that we can build on and take forward as we continue to progress learner centric technology solutions for the classroom."
