Leicester schools to share best practice for educational transformation through technology at ‘Engage, Evolve, Excel’ – 22 June 2011
Event: 'Engage, Evolve, Excel' - free event for Leicester schools to showcase and share excellent and innovative practice in the use of technology for teaching and learning

You are invited to join over thirty schools, colleges and educational technology experts from across Leicester to experience a showcase of innovative practice in the use of technology at the "Engage, Evolve, Excel" event on Wednesday 22nd June at the Leicester Tigers Stadium.
From exciting classroom projects utilising the latest handheld technologies, such as Apple iPads and iPhones, Sony PSPs and Nintendo DS', to innovative use of robot and coding technology to help engage boys in engineering, "Engage, Evolve, Excel" is set to inspire best practice use of technology across the entire curriculum.
Teachers and practitioners from across all subject areas and across the phases of education, will be able to share their experiences, best practice, resources and methods of how technology can be used to support effective learning and to engage students.
The event is organised by Leicester's schools and colleges in association with Leicester City Council, The Schools Development and Support Agency (SDSA) and supported by leading providers of ICT services and solutions, Northgate Managed Services (www.northgate-is.com/managedservices). Key event sponsors include world-class education suppliers Promethean, CDEC, Sahara and Siracom / Meru.
Keynote, Professor Stephen Heppell, attributed as 'the most influential academic of recent years in the field of technology and education'*, will share his latest experiences and findings on innovation in education to inspire attendees. Josie Fraser, Leicester City Council's ICT Strategy Lead (Transforming Learning Environments) will also talk about the authority's commitment and strategy to ensure that all young people benefit from access to technology to support learning.
The event will close with an awards ceremony led by Professor Stephen Heppell to reward the most exemplary schools.
