From the X-Factor to Dancing on Ice, voting is part of everyday life for young and old alike, and now Carryduff Primary School has 'topped the polls' by winning the latest interactive classroom voting technology in a promotion organised by Northgate Managed Services, a leading educational ICT service and solution provider. Providing ICT services to 1250 primary and secondary schools across Northern Ireland, through C2K, Northgate offered each school the opportunity to be entered into the draw for the ActiVote technology. This technology complements the schools interactive whiteboards which have replaced traditional 'blackboards' in classrooms province-wide. The voting system encourages pupil participation, builds confidence and as every child has a vote, it helps teachers more accurately track levels of understanding for each and every child.

All set to use their new voting devises for the first time are pupils Jordan Smith, Rebecca Finn, Holly McAlpine and Mark Reid along with principal Barbara Preston, Scott Hillen from Northgate, and Lyndsey Hyndman, ICT Co-Ordinator at Carryduff PS.
