Pupils to gain “speedy” knowledge from Northgate’s Careers Workshops

03 November 2010
Influenced by the current trends in ‘speed networking’, the team at Northgate Managed Services, one of Northern Ireland’s leading ICT companies, will be using a similar method to connect with young people at this year’s National ICT Event, organised by Momentum NI, E-skills UK and the Belfast Area ICT specialist schools : Ashfield Girls’, Belfast Model School for Girls, Ballyclare High and Glengormley High.
The event, which is part of the wider 'BringITon' campaign designed to encourage young people to consider a career in ICT, will allow pupils to learn about a career in IT, explore the various professions and paths available to them and hear about the future of the industry from leading technologists.
Pupils from 32 schools across Northern Ireland will also have the benefit of attending workshops run by the universities and various organisations from the ICT Industry. Northgate will be delivering a workshop where pupils can engage with different employees whose expertise ranges from technical specialists to recent graduates.
Andy Ross, Chief Executive, Northgate Managed Services commented:
"We are delighted to facilitate the workshops and play an integral role in this year's National ICT event. We have been involved with the 'BringITon' campaign for several years now and are fully committed to helping it achieve its objectives. Our workshops will give pupils quality face-to-face time with a range of employees across the business, allowing them to ask questions about qualifications and the different paths taken by our employees."
The event on Friday 5th November is fully booked, however schools interested in a class visit to Northgate Managed Services, please contact info@northgate-is.com or 028 9085 7591
