Customer Communication Regarding Travel Restrictions

19 April 2010

Since last Thursday the restrictions on flights as a result of ash from the Eyjafjallajökull volcano has caused major disruption to travel plans.

We would like to reassure all our customers that we are undertaking a detailed review to ensure there is no impact on the quality of service delivery as a result of these restrictions.

This note sets out the initial steps we are taking to work round the current travel restrictions.

Customers - we are reviewing all our service delivery commitments and our account management teams will communicate any changes that are needed in the short term. For example, it may be necessary to use videoconferencing and/or teleconferencing rather than having face to face meetings, and we may need to use alternative transport arrangements where Northgate staff have to travel to customer sites.

Suppliers - we are working with all our suppliers to ensure the necessary goods and services continue to be delivered in line with SLAs and project delivery timescales. Where there could be an impact we will work with our suppliers to identify alternative supply arrangements or delivery mechanisms.

Staff Travel - we are looking at all alternative means of travel for staff that need to travel to customer sites. This may need a degree of flexibility around the timings of meetings, but we will do all we can to minimise any disruption to customers.
We will closely monitor the situation throughout this week, and if necessary we will communicate any further changes needed to ensure that we meet our service delivery commitments.

Should you have any further queries regarding this please do not hesitate to contact your Account Manager.
