Focussing on Data Security

Northgate Managed Services (Northgate) addresses data security issues by sharing customer experiences to members of Scotlands Public Sector on how leading-edge protection technology can safeguard citizens data.
Northgate hosted a data security seminar at Falkirk Wheel for Scottish public sector representatives responsible for safeguarding public data. Following recent well publicised security breach incidents the seminar highlighted security issues to consider, the impact and the need to ensure that ICT systems are robust and offer the proper levels of security. Stuart Graham, IT Operations Manager NHS Lanarkshire and Ted Boyle, Systems Admin and security Manager, NHS Lothian shared their experiences managing data security for large public sector organisations, the solutions which have been put in place, results and future plans.
James Turnbull, Managing Director , Northgate Managed Services, Scotland added, "The issue of data security is one that is effecting more and more organisations in today's technology based business environment. It is important for data management to be carefully monitored and constantly reviewed, this seminar was an excellent platform to identify areas of concern around data security and discuss the solutions which are available to address these issues."
