Northgate delivered, implemented and managed a Clincial Portal service for an NHS Consortium made up of NHS Lothian, NHS Fife, NHS Borders and NHS Dumfries and Galloway.

The clinical portal pulls information from a number of clinical systems including SCI Store, PACs, Emergency Care Summary (ECS), Labs systems and the respective PAS/PMS systems in operation to offer the clinician a single view of the patient with all relevant information.

Leicester Area Wide ICT Service

Northgate Managed Services has been working with Leicester City Council and the Leicester Miller Education Partnership since 2007, to design, implement and manage an ICT service for secondary schools in Leicester.

The wide area service originally part of Leicester’s Building Schools for the Future programme has provided a flexible, robust and scalable ICT service for a number of secondary schools in Leicester city.

Northgate has worked closely with each individual school to deliver a solution tailored to their individual requirements, ranging from an ICT managed service to consultancy and project based solutions to continue to deliver cost savings and operational efficiency improvements within the schools. 

Across Leicester 23 schools will benefit from various levels of an ICT service, tailored to their specific requirements.

Hartsbrook E-ACT Free School

Hartsbrook E-ACT Free School is the first school in the UK to implement a full ICT cloud solution based on Microsoft technologies.

Hartsbrook E-ACT Free School, located in Tottenham, London opened its doors on the 10th of September.  The Free School is temporarily located on the ground floor of The College of Haringey, Enfield and North East London’s Tottenham Green Campus while their new school is being built.

Northgate Managed Services, E-ACT and Microsoft have worked closely together to provide a cloud based service to Hartsbrook E-ACT Free School, with all IT services hosted in the public cloud and no physical servers located on school premises. Hartsbrook Free School are the first primary school in the UK to implement a Microsoft cloud based solution including Windows 8

The school plan to continually extend curriculum delivery across various devices and enhance students IT skills through the adoption of Microsoft Surface devices and Windows phones, and are planning on participating in a pilot in the near future.

E-ACT Wide Area Service

Northgate Managed Services and E-ACT are engaging in an active partnership to provide an Area Wide Service to all of E-ACT’s academies and Free Schools

Northgate Managed Services is working as an active, long term ICT partner to E-ACT, providing ICT services to its 27 academies and 2 Free Schools.

Christian Aid - ICT Infrastructure Upgrade

Christian Aid has selected Northgate Managed Services as its ICT partner. The contract has been awarded for an initial three-year period and will see Northgate working in partnership with Christian Aid to facilitate an upgrade of their ICT infrastructure and provide additional services.

An audit of Christian Aid’s office-based operations identified an ageing ICT infrastructure with high maintenance costs. This was an area where cost savings could potentially be made.

Northgate has worked with Christian Aid to deliver the refresh of the UK and Irish PC estate, the implementation of a comprehensive training schedule for staff, and the introduction of a predictable and flexible billing structure.

NHS Fife

Improving the patient experience through a clinical portal, single sign on and patient early warning system

Working with Northgate Managed Services, NHS Fife have implemented 3 key solutions to improve the patient experience and efficiencies:

DARD Oracle Database Upgrade

Northgate Managed Services has worked with DARD to complete a project to upgrade GASGIS, a critical information system used in the administration of EU funding for the Northern Ireland agricultural community.

DARD required an upgrade of the underlying database of the GASGIS system from Oracle Enterprise Version 9i to Oracle 11g R2.

Energia – Customer Care and Billing system upgrade

Energy Utilities

Northgate has successfully supported a full system upgrade of Energia’s Customer Care and Billing system (CC&B) to v2.3.1

Challenge
Oracle premier support for v1.5.20 of CC&B was due to end in June 2011, therefore it was imperative that Energia upgraded to the latest version in line with this date.

Solution
Northgate undertook development to upgrade specific custom code modules, interfaces and reports to be aligned with v2.3.1 of CC&B.

Result
Northgate met all the objectives of the Energia CC&B upgrade project, delivering a solution which met all requirements in an agreed timescale.
